Role of Community Development Co-ordinator

The Children’s Centre at Tyssen is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced leader who can provide inspirational support to our Extended Services teams.  You will build upon our successes and further drive forward our vision of excellence within Tyssen, and be committed to supporting other children’s centres and early intervention services within a cluster group.

We are looking to appoint for September 2017

Grade: SO2 Point 32-34  –  £24,852 – £26,154 (actual  pro-rata salary range)

Hours: 28 per week

Contract term: Temporary for a year (52 weeks with a possible extension)

The role of the Community Development Co-ordinator includes:

To ensure that local children, families and the community take advantage of opportunities presented to them at the children’s centres within the cluster.

  • To work with the community to review the services offered.
  • To work with the Head of Centre to implement the Children’s Centre Strategic Protocol and report back to Head of Centre, advisory board and governors
  • To provide managerial cover in the absence of the Head of Centre.

 You will have:

  • Relevant professional qualification at degree level equivalent
    Management or leadership experience
  • Experience and understanding of providing services for children 0-5 including those with special educational needs.
  • Relevant experience of delivering the Children’s Centre core offer would be useful.

The Children’s Centre at Tyssen is looking to recruit

A skilled Early Years Professional

We would like someone who can provide inspirational support to our children and families in the community.  You will build upon our successes and further drive forward our vision of excellence within Tyssen, and be committed to supporting other children’s centres and early intervention services within a cluster group.

Early Years professional (Children’s Centre) – for a Maternity Cover 

Grade:                  Scale 6 (Point 26 – 28)

Salary:                   £26,865 – £28,884

Hours:                   36 per week

Contract:             Term time only or 52 weeks

Early Years Professional qualification is required for this post which is based in our Children’s Centre caring for children under 5. The contract is to cover maternity leave for a fixed term period from: an immediate start up to a maximum of 12 months.

  • To promote and support child development, providing positive child centred learning opportunities
  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher and colleagues, in order to support and extend the children’s learning
  • Maintain respectful and genuine interaction with children using warm and responsive communication strategies, which are appropriate to children’s needs. 

You will have:

  • Relevant professional qualification
  • Strong understanding of childcare
