Reception Class admission process for September 2016
If your child was born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012, they will be due to start the reception class next year and you will need to start thinking about the primary schools you would like to apply for.
In order for you to be fully informed and prepared, the leaflet below will provide you with some basic information.

To apply online the Pan London eAdmissions system will open from 1 September 2015. The closing date for applications is 15 January 2016, notification date of outcome is 16 April 2016.

From Tuesday 15 March to Wednesday 23 March 2016
During this period, information is exchanged through the Pan London Register about the outcome of preferences for all children who are starting reception classes in September 2015.
All LAs receive information about potential offers from other LAs. Some applicants will get more than one offer of a place. LAs will then decline any offers beneath the highest ranked school offered.

If you have applied online you will receive an email from www.eadmissions.org.uk during the evening telling you the outcome of your application. If you completed a paper application form, Hackney Learning Trust will send you a letter telling you the outcome of your application.

You must confirm at www.eadmissions.org.uk the acceptance of the school offer. If sent a letter from Hackney Learning Trust, you must return the reply slip accepting the place.
Monday 23 May 2016 Closing date for lodging appeals
June / July 2016 Admission appeal hearings are arranged by independent clerk who will send you a letter with your appeal date.

Primary to secondary transfer in September 2016
If you are a Hackney resident and your child was born between 1st September 2004 and 31st August 2005 you will need to apply for a secondary school place for your child by 31st October

Please apply via eAdmissions .The closing date for applications is 31 October 2015, notification date of outcome is 1 March 2016.
Children attending primary schools outside Hackney take the cognitive abilities tests (CATs) on one of the Saturdays 28 November, 5 or 12 December 2015 (am or pm session) also Monday 14 December (am session only) at various secondary schools in Hackney used as testing venues. These are the only dates available so it is important that your child attends on the date/venue allocated to you. Parents will notified of date and location of the test via letter in mid November 2015.
